The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of our customer marketing email programs. The ideal candidate must have superb written skills and technical ability to create engaging email campaigns. This role will own execution of weekly emails as well as lifecycle journeys, including, but not limited to, calendaring, creative briefs, copy writing, email coding, campaign setup, QA, testing, reporting, and analysis. In addition, they will work with business partners and guide on best practices, testing plans, segmentation, and optimization.

 

Reporting to the Head of Customer Marketing, the right candidate is a blend of strategic thinker and executor—being able to think three steps ahead while still getting the day-to-day work done. They have experience in customer marketing, with strong project management and organizational skills.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and implementation of a wide range of email campaigns, including working collaboratively on creative development, list management and segmentation strategies, as well as technical development, metrics design, testing, execution, tracking and refinement. Includes all project management for email marketing initiatives.
  • Understand the behaviors and trends of key customer segments and garner insights that are actionable. Conduct analysis of results and develop test plans to continuously improve email performance.
  • Identify key performance indicators and standardize weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or yearly reporting to meaningfully interpret email engagement results and implications aligned to industry benchmarks.
  • Optimize emails for deliverability, mobile rendering, open rates, etc.
  • Be the subject matter expert (SME) in marketing application of email marketing strategies within our business. Stay current on latest technologies and trends and make quarterly recommendations to leverage them as potential brand differentiators in campaigns, email marketing etc.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience managing high-volume email campaigns with flawless execution.
  • Email marketing experience using an ESP (Mailchimp, Marketo), as well as familiarity with CRM marketing capabilities of SFDC.
  • Ability to code emails (HTML, CSS, and mobile responsive email design).
  • Understanding of database infrastructure with the ability to synthesize data, leverage data to drive decisions and turn results into actionable learnings. SQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with best practices in email messaging, email technology, HTML delivery strategies, service providers, list management, IP reputation management and spam regulations.
  • Strong communication, writing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to develop deep relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Google Analytics and/or other web analytics experience preferred.
