Ooma is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong knowledge of C/C++,  iOS skills (Swift/Objective-C),  Android development, and an overall understanding of Android NDK. A general understanding of VOIP principles/SIP stack/work with different audio/video codecs is required for this position.


The qualified candidate will join the software team to develop multiple user-facing applications for the Communications and UCaaS market.



  • Develop and maintain a shared mobile library for VoIP communications.
  • Collaborate with the telephony back-end team to define the architecture of the interfaces for mobile app.
  • Work in collaboration with offshore engineers on feature development.
  • Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, testable, and reliable code.
  • Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Evaluate field issues, debug in the production environment, and provide timely fixes.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Contribute to transformation/refactoring of the application.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.



  • An excellent problem solver.
  • Solid understanding of real-time communications, including SIP, RTP, and WebRTC.
  • Proven track record of supporting production issues by analyzing logs and other behavior and providing timely fixes to field issues.
  • Comfortable interacting with Network Operations, Field Operations, and Telephony back-end engineers.
  • Good knowledge of Swift/Objective-C, patterns, and best practices
  • Understanding of integration principles between C/C++ and Swift/Objective-C code
  • Good knowledge of Android SDK, Java/Kotlin, patterns, and best practices
  • Knowledge of work principles with Android NDK
  • Understanding of Reactive programming principles
  • Knowledge of work principles with multithreading and network
  • RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end services
  • Proficient understanding of Git
  • Familiarity and passion for CI/CD
  • 4-year Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
