Summary:

Ooma is looking for a high performing revenue accountant to manage and own various day to day revenue accounting functions. A successful candidate will be responsible for the timely performance of the overall order-to-cash process. This role will work cross functionally with the sales team, customer success team and legal team to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy. In addition, month-end close responsibilities, fulfillment of internal and external audit requests, and help design operational procedures and processes related to order-to-cash. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of Enterprise revenue services, including reviews of bookings, billing to revenue recognition
  • Colloborate with pre-sales, sales, on-boarding and customer success teams to ensure Enterprise services and billings are aligned
  • Partner with the Customer Success team to ensure integrity of backlog and un-installed backlog
  • Perform month-end close, related entries and account reconciliation and analysis for monthly unbilled AR, revenue, deferred revenue, deferred costs and other account reconciliations
  • Management of billing and data integrity flows between multiple business systems
  • Management of bank reconciliations for the Enterprise business units
  • Review any non-standard contract and perform revenue checklist (if needed)
  • Identify revenue recognition issues and work with management to review the business process and record appropriate entries
  • Assist in quarterly external and internal audit request
  • Perform quarterly flux analysis and business metrics for Enterprise business unit

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and billing systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Understanding of US GAAP (ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers)
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently
