Ooma is looking for an experienced, hands-on Product Manager who understands back-office software and billing systems in telecommunications, or service provider industries and will lead the definition of a high-quality back-office suite of applications for use by customer support, finance, sales and other groups.


In this role, you will be responsible for working with existing Product Managers to understand new products and features that need to be supported by the back-office software suite.  This will involve researching customer support and finance needs for those products and features, developing requirements, improving ease-of-use and auditability.


As the Back-office Product Manager you will be the subject matter expert for billing, order management and service management.


You’ll work with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, program managers, marketers, salespeople, and business managers.  The ideal candidate will thrive in our fast paced, results-driven culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Soliciting and analyzing input to understand product functionality, billing and service needs driving what is needed for customer support, finance and sales functions
  • Prioritizing features, drafting requirements, developing a product roadmap
  • Creating wireframes and working with engineers to finalize UI
  • Reviewing tickets and field issues to prioritize work
  • Monitor PCI and payment gateway changes to identify new requirements and trends
  • Collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, product, customer support, finance, business analysts, sales and marketing stakeholders
  • Interfacing with strategic vendors and partners


Required Experience & Qualifications:


  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering is highly desired
  • 3+ years total experience as a product manager in IT related areas
  • Experience managing back office or billing services is a plus
  • Familiarity with SOX, PII, PCI
  • Motivated, self-starter with an ability to work with remote teams in a collaborative, engaged, enthusiastic manner
  • Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail
  • Creative and analytical problem-solver, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
